Argumentation-smoking

Most people smoke a lot every day and some people who do not smoke are against smoking. Weather smoking should remain legal or not is a controversial issue all over the world. Smoking should be made illegal for two main reasons. To begin with, smoking is risky for health and smokers give rise to bad effects on their body. Especially, heavy smokers would have a lot of health problems such as lung cancer, throat cancer.. Therefore, using of cigarette should be reduced and finally it should be finished. Secondly, smoking cause bad effects on non-smokers called passive smokers. This people who live with smokers or be at the same place have to inhale the fume of cigarette. For example, at home, children who have a smoker-parents will have many diseases in the future. As a result of this, using of cigarette should not be legal anywhere. The opponents of these strong proposals argue that smoking should remain legal. Because, they say that people have the rights and be free what they want to do. Noone can not inhibit another one. However, people who have these ideas forget something. Smoking inhibits the rights other people have. To sum up, it is crucial that smoking be made illegal.    

THE 6. SENSE

First time when the 6. sense first began to play, my friends and my cousin suggested me watching this film. However, i haven't watched it until this time. When i watched it, i really loved. I am going to give some information about this film.

The 6. sense is a psycologic horror film. It was directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan. Bruce Wills and Haley Joel Osment are leading actors and both had a good job. In film, Dr. Crowe(Bruce Wills) is a psycologist and at the begin of film he was shooted by a patient who couldnt be treated by him. But ,then, he decided to treat another patient who is a little boy.

This little boy ,cole, can see ghosts and he is afraid of them so much. When he saw them, he runs away from there. He lives with his mother and doesnt tell anything that he saw. His mother worries about him because of his different acts. For example, one day, he painted about dead people in the school.

Dr. Crowe tries to be friend him and wants to treat him. At first the little boy doesnt trust him. Then Dr. Crowe earns his trust and Cole talks him about dead people. He says that he can see them but they cant see each others. Dr. Crowe believes him and tries to help him. He suggests that he try to communicate with the ghosts. Because, they may want to say something to him.

Finally, Cole takes courage and talks to one of ghosts that is a little girl in his house. The little girl is very sick and wants to help from him. In fact, the girl was died by her stepmother. Cole helps her. Thus her father is aware of this situation that the stepmother caused her dead.

Cole shares his secret with his mother. At first she doesnt believe but when Cole talks about his grand mother, she believes.

Dr. Crowe is happy because he could help Cole. But at home, there is something wrong for Dr Crowe. Then he is aware of something and this is very bad for him.

   

DOGS

This week, i want to talk about dogs. I love dogs because they are very intelegent and pretty animals. Nowadays, i and my family think to buy a dog but we dont decide what genus of the dog is. I have searched on the internet about dogs and now i want to buy all of them. Unfortunately, i can't. 

Their sense of taste, hearing and smell is very good. If they are licking their nose, its mean that they will save a scent their memory. They see the colour of yellow and blue better than other colours. We can train them easier than other animals because of their intelligence. They must be trained when they are 6 months old. Moreover, they are a good swimmer.  They are so loyal to their family.

The dogs have an advenced and sociable communication with people. Thus, they want to play games and they can live in a house easily. They are very helpfull animals. For example, they work to rescue people or animals from under debris. They always want to protect their owner. 

There are 300 variety of domestic dogs such as husky, golden retriever, labrador, german shepherd, cocker spaniel, pitbul and terrier. It is said that the pitbuls are very agressive and attacker but according to experts, normally they are not agressive. If they see bad act from people or they are grew bad conditions, they can be agressive like all animals. 

If we decide which dog we buy, we will train it more carefully and love all of its life.

Nasrettin Hodja

I want to talk about Nasrettin Hodja. I think he was a funny person. There are a lot of story about him but noone still knows when or where he lived in.There are only the predictions about them. It is believed that he was born in Sivrihisar in 13. century and he died in Akşehir. He was an imam, a teacher and a muslim judge. So, the appellation that is 'hodja' was given to him.

While he was telling about the Anatolian people's life-style with funny and regimental items, people learned their mistakes. He showed people the true ways. Nowadays, his events are told as a humor.

I want to write some of his events..

• One day, Nasrettin Hodja bet with his friends. If Nasrettin Hodja wait for a day at the park, his friends will prepare a good dinner. Unless he wait, he will prepare a dinner for them. He waited all day at the park coldly. Then, his friend came and said him " you didnt win this bet because you heated with a candle which is at far away. Nasrettin Hodja admitted it despairingly and went to prepare the dinner. He put a candle under a big saucepan. His friends said him " But you dont cook a meal with a candle". Then Hodja said " how i heat with a candle, this meal will be cooked with a candle".

• One day, Nasrettin Hodja wanted to a pan from his neighboor. Then his neighboor said that his pan was eaten by mouses. After two days, he wanted to hodja's donkey from hodja to go to market. Hodja said " my donkey was eaten by a mouse." Then the neighboor asked how a donkey was eaten by a mouse. Hodja answered " if mouses could eat pans, they could eat a donkey".

   

"face" or "fake" book

I want to talk about "facebook's site" this week. Why is the facebook being used? Why does it become the most popular site? What is the aim of using facebook? First times, everyone wanted to find friends from their primary school 'allegedly' so they made a facebook account. Then students from primary school had an account and in a short time, everyone had an account from this site even a child who is 3 years old was taken a facebook account. I am laughing that and actually there are a lot of ridiculous events about that. Whenever i hear something about facebook, i say "fortunately, i dont have any facebook account".

The word that is 'facebook' has been adopted by everyone. I hear it is used at least one time a day. One day, while i and my friends were sitting and eating something, a girl who sat near our table said to her friends " i ate facebook yesterday". We were shocked. In fact, she had wanted to say "i ate fastfood yesterday".

Do you know İsmail YK's song? Its name is "facebook". He says at this song " facebook facebook i had been searching before i found this girl there". Is it an aim of using that?

People have been very curious since ancient time. Sometimes this curiosity caused inventions, sometimes it caused doing unnecessary things. I think people who use facebook are like a spy because of their curiosity. Who? Where? When? I guess people love looking their photograph or showing their own photograph.

Is there any social problem between people? Some researches say "people assume having a lot of friends provides a social status with facebook". If it is true, there is a serious social problem in 21.century.
 
Most people have become addicted to facebook. I think using facebook's site or similar of that is a waste of time. I also say that fortunately i dont have any facebook account.

ÇATURANGA

Çaturanga is the father of chess. It was started to play in India in AD 600. Çatur's mean is four and anga's mean is part. In India, Indian army had four parts which was infantry, elephant, cavalry and chariots. So Indian people gave this name. In 625, çaturanga was played in Persian and Persian people changed its name as çatrang. 25 years later, Arabian people met and loved this game and gave a different name that was 'şatranç'. After that, this game had been continiued to spread other countries. In that period, when its name was changed, its rules were changing a little bit. Movement of çaturanga's pieces is closely the same with movement of chess' pieces. All of them have strategical movement and have a lot of benefits for human. For example,

• Chess teachs obeying the rules, playing friendly, admiting defeat and congratulating the winner.
• Chess improves the self confident of player.
• Chess affects the human's personality positively.
• Chess shows the importance of being planned.
• Chess helps thinking quickly and rightly.

The first formal chess tournament was made in England in 1851. Nowadays, the best chess player is Kasparow. In 1996, he played chess against computer and he won. Then the program was improved and Kasparov played chass with computer again in 1997. The result of this, computer won. That was the first game which Kasparow lost against the computer.

I love playing the chess. It is very exciting and strategic game. I have been playing chess since i was 6 years old. I played my first game against my father and i lost. But i enjoyed and liked it. I hadnt won my mother and my father since i was 11. Then i had played at tournament in my primary school and i was choosen champion. Unfortunately, at high school, i didnt attemp the tournaments of chess. Sometimes, i play chess with computer.        

DO YOU LİKE TURKİSH COFFEE?

This week, I want to talk about coffee which belongs to turkish culture. This coffee was found out by Özdemir Paşa in 1517. He liked taste of coffee and brought it to Istanbul. After that Turkish people had prepared new method of this coffee. It was made in churns and pots. Then, the name of new coffee was turkish coffee. It is only one of coffee which is served with sediment. It continues its heat very long time due to shape of cup.

There are a lot of benefits the Turkish coffee. Some of the benefits are:
Much more caffeine is harmful for human's body but little amount of coffeine has a lot of benefits. Because of shape of pot, turkish coffee has enough caffeine for human's health. Moreover, this coffee included less caffeine than other coffees. The caffeine which is included by coffee gives energy, provides staying without sleep and activity of brain becomes stronger. According to some researches, a man who drinks coffee everyday has the mental activity faster than a man who doesnt drink coffee. Another some interesting researches say that one who drinks coffee has less tooth decay. The turkish coffee prevents hearth diseases. The digestion becomes easy. The turkish coffee which is drunk two times a day benefits for human's health.

I think the most enjoyable part of drinking turkish coffee is to look horoscope. Some days, i and my mother sit and look our horoscope and say somethings. It is funny because we always concoct everything. Sometimes, my mother comments ridiculously and we laugh that.  

In fact, looking horoscope with coffee has been done since turkish coffee was found. Its purpose is to say good things and to provide looking hopefully to future. In my opinion, it should be done just for fun, believing that is wrong.

HAGGARD..

"Haggard" is a very successful senfonic metal group, i've ever listened. When i listened to this group first time, i loved. Actually, Haggard is a young group. It is the same age with me:) This group was established in 1991 and it had 21 members. However, nowadays it has 17 members. Fortunately, success of this group continues. Group members are from Germany and Denmark. Their first demo was "introduction" which was made in 1993. Then, the first mini album "progressive" which has five songs was made in 1994. Haggard had been making their music as deaht metal until 1995. In 1995, they began to use classical items in their music. They added violin, cello, piano and a soprano in their music. Using senfonic and classical items affected their future careers positively. In 1997, they made a new album which is adored by audience. This album contains melodies of deaht metal and medieval classical folk music and lyrics of english, german and latin. It is talking about story of "Notre Dame". In 2000, Haggard made "Awaking The Centuries"which i loved it. This album is talking about real events of history and the remaining part of the story of Notre Dame. The last album was "Eppur si muove". This name belongs to Galileo.Its means "despite everything the world is round".In 2004, Haggard succeed in with this album again. I have still listened them fondly.

MURPHY..

Edward A. Murphy, Jr. was an American engineer. He was born in 1918 and he was the eldest of five children. He worked USA airforce and researched in aerospace engineering and reliability engineering. I think Murphy was an interesting person because he has a lot of interesting and real aphorism. His aphorism was accepted as law in 1958. He died in 1990.

One day, while Murphy and other engineers were making an experiments, one of engineer put a sensor on sixteen different points of a pilot's body. On the other hand, each of these sensor could be attached in two different ways and one way is true. This engineer succeed in attaching all of these sensor to wrong way. Therefore, Murphy announced his own aphorism.

 Some of general rules:

• Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
• If one thing go wrong in severeal ways, it will always happen the worst way.
• One thing may go wrong and even if you keep from the posibility, immediately a new posibility will arise.  
• How much time you wait, the things will come when you don't want . 
• When you abandon from something, it comes back to you.  

I like some of his law:

• Everything which fall down go the most difficult place.
• If you fall down a bread with jam, the part of bread with jam comes to the floor.
• While you prepare something and your hands are dirty, your nose scratchs.
• 
  If you call wrong number, it wont be busy.
• At the cinema, people who sit in the middle of armchairs come the latest.
• If you show a machine which not to work, it will work.
• Fume of cigaret comes people who dont smoke.
• If somethings are going on the road, there is definitely a wrong.
• You work hard for the exam but the questions comes from place where you didnt work.
• If you dont want to be seen, you will run across someone who you know.
• .....   
According to Murphy, chaos is more possible than regularity.

There are two essential positive effects of joining a work and travel program on students. The first effect is having a social life. Students learn another language and communicate with foreign people. Thus, they meet new ğeople. After that, students learn their life-style and recognize their culture. As a result of this, they have a lot of friends. The second positive effect is learninig to struggle difficult life conditions. Students try to live a different place. Hence, they must earn money. If students have enough amount money, they can buy or rent a car and travel around more. Thus, they learn new places. As a result of this, their courage and self confidence increase. Then, their degree of strength rises to live another country. As a consequence of this, students must join a work and travel program.

Having a healthy diet

There are two essential positive effects of having a healthy diet on our body and mind. First of all, a balanced menu is very important for human's health because it includes vitamins, minerals, carbonhydrad, fats and sugar. They nourish human's body so immune system becomes stronger. As a result of this, human's body is protected from illnesses, virus and bacterias. Secondly, if people take enough amount of fish, nuts, vegetables and fruits, they will nourish their nervous cell. After that, nervous system is improved. As a result of this, human's memory is stronger. To sum up, having a healthy diet affects our body and mind positively.

ALBERT EİNSTEİN :)

My favourite scientist is Albert Einstein. He dead in 1955. If he didnt die, i would ask some questions. Some of these questions are ;

1)Why do you prefer to sleepless?
2)Why do you prefer to wear shoes without socks and why are your hair generally dispersed?
3)You are a well-known genius person. Why do you think that you are not genius?
4)What do you think about atom bomb and its application?
5)Why is to call the truth more precious than to find the truth?

• Education is remaining part after people forgot everything that they learned in school. 
• Only two things are infinite, the universe and human's stupidity. I'm not sure from the first.  

ALBERT EİNSTEİN

DEATH NOTE (do you know that shinigami only eat apples?)

I'm going to tell an anime this week. I love watching animes which are produced by Japanese. "Death Note" is also produced very successful anime.

One day, a high school student (Light Yagami) finds a book which was dropped by a shinigami (angel of death). If someone's name is written at this book, s/he will die after 40 seconds. After that, Light Yagami

introduces himself "The god of new world". He calls himself "kira" and begins to kill criminal people and people who oppose him. Light Yagami ,who is son of head of  the investigation team, is very clever. He is tried to stop by the investigation team and L. Nobody understands who Kira is until L understood.                                                                          Light Yagami (Kira)

L is the best detective of the world  and also clever person. He ,who believes in sitting humpback increases the inteligence about 40 percent, is an interesting person. He loves candies and sugars. He ambuscades Kira unexpectedly.

" Death Note" was made the anime and the film. Unfortunately, fiction was changed a little bit at the film. Some characters were omitted and the anime version was made shorter. To illustrate, there are Mello and Near like L at the anime. They are as smart as L and Near is follower him.

The anime version of "Death Note" was made very cleverly. After you watched, you will admire. I definitely recommend you. 

RULES OF DEAHT NOTE

1)If someones name is written at this book, s/he will die in 40 seconds. But  if cause of death is also written, s/he will die after 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

2)Someone ,who uses this book, should seen man's face to kill. Others who have the same name are not affected.

3)Someone ,who uses this book, cannot go to heaven or hell.

4)"Death Note" is given to someone else. However,  in this case person's all memories about this book will be deleted.

5) "Death Note" cannot provide imposible things.

6)Shinigamies eyes can see people's name, surname, age, life duration..etc. If person ,who uses this book, want this eyes, s/he will have them and see the same things like shinigamies. However, remaining half human life of this person deletes and passes to shinigami.

7)A shinigami was created for making shorter life of humans. If a shinigami makes longer life of humans, it will die.

8)If Death Note ,which has already Shinigami book, passes into the hand of a man, The shinigami must find the man in 39 days. This book will be link between the shinigami and the person.
